About this course
Entry Level 3 Functional Skills maths learners will gain essential knowledge, skills, and understanding to enable them to operate confidently, effectively, and independently in life, as well as provide a foundation for progression into employment or further education. Learners will be able to use mathematical information including numbers, symbols, simple diagrams and charts; recognise, understand, and use simple mathematical terms; use methods given to produce, check, and present results that make sense to an appropriate level of accuracy; and present results with appropriate and reasoned explanation using numbers, measures, simple diagrams, charts, and symbols relevant to Entry Level 3.

Many courses and employers require individuals to possess a certain maths level. When sat at Level 2, Functional Skills Maths will offer individuals the opportunity to gain alternative qualifications that are equivalent to a GCSE grade 4 pass. These qualifications can then lead to higher level apprenticeships and certain employment.

Yes, all learners are required to sit an online BKSB initial assessment prior to attending classes. This ensures PSA develops your unique learning journey by only considering the stronger and weaker areas of your results. Therefore, only teaching you what you need to know, not what you already know.

There is no time limit for you to complete your Maths Functional Skills qualification. However, a minimum of 55 hours for each qualification must be recorded before you can sit your exams.

As your exams are conducted on demand and online at our training centre, this gives you and your tutor the flexibility to decide when you are ready to sit your exams. Unlike GCSEs, there is no set calendar date, all we require is 24 hours notice to schedule your exam.

Yes, all learners are provided with one free opportunity to resit their Functional Skills Maths qualification.

Yes, there are a limited amount of car parking spaces outside the training centre. If possible, it is advisable to car share with colleagues who may be attending the same training.
